Marvelous Mud and Ravenous Rains

The start of the rains, the start of a new life
It is sure evident that the long rains have arrived, despite the fact that the rest of the country have only recently received rain, the Mara has been wet for some time now. It is amazing seeing the savannahs transform into a lush green haven, the Mara River bursting the seams, and the wildlife getting fatter, which is of course a marvel of Mother Nature.
Craig watching the river rising
All smiles despite the rain
Runoff going towards the Mara River
All fun ahead skidding through the mud

Runoff down the escarpment and into the Mara River
River bursting the the seams
Muddy game drives and getting stuck are only part of one’s daily activities, where you can travel back to your childhood roots and have some fun in the mud. The game drives are full of excitement and if you are lucky enough to get stuck then full of entertainment (maybe more for the animals watching you trying to get outJ), but needless to say still full of amazing wildlife sightings.
Stuck in the mud
Muddy roads adds to the excitment of your drive
None the less you still get to see magnificent sunsets despite the rains
We welcome the rains with open arms as it is bringing the country a lot of good as well as providing more nutritious food for the Wildebeest migration who will be making their way up North in a few months.
