Serian's Serengeti Maswa

We are starting a seasonal camp Serian's Serengeti Maswa in the Southern Serengeti/Maswa Game Reserve this coming Dec 20th, a handsome traditional tented camp located in an exclusive area of 250,000 acres. Take a look at our revamped website on www.serian.net to get a feel for or email me on camp@serian.net to find out more. An exclusive walking area it is going to be a fabulous experience as the birthing season for the wildebbest happens on the short grass plains right outside of camp!

Baby's Galore!

Some little ones, baby silver back jackals coming out of the woodwork around the camp! And some new Lion cubs next to the crossings on Paradise plains. The crossings continue and the rain is falling intermittently over the Northern Mara. We have just had a great storm here in camp immediately followed by a great sunset!

The mobile camp at Nkorombo and maji ya ndege has been a great sussess and afforded great viewing to all that have stayed there in recent months. Mark is off in the north of Kenya with the mobile in Meru National Park and I hope we can show you some of our pictures from there also.

Zawadi -our favourite lady

Zawadi has been hanging out here again over the past few days, just up from our house and resplendant in her old age. Thirteen now which is really quite impressive and as calm as ever. one of the pictures shows her white whiskers that seem to have grown longer than ever now.

She is with her two cubs and spends the afternoon hunting in the long grass down by the spring! We have had a number of really keen photographers in camp recently staying for around 10 nights at a time and taking advantage of the mobile camp aswell. Karl pictured has been getting great images of lion hunting wildebeest at the crossing whilst another was taken by a crocodile!

Migration Images

With the migration in full swing we have had a number of really great sightings both close by camp and from the mobile camp at Nkorombo in the reserve. One family had a crossing of ten thousand pass right through the camp whilst they sat having breakfast!

On their first evening in camp Anup & Manoj Shah took this shot of a lioness hunting some wildebeest right outside of Serian!

Carnivore? Herbivore?

This unusual photograph was taken outside of camp recently it seems the giraffe was a little confused the impala leg and must have thought it was a branch! Camp has been busy of the past few weeks and a number of great shots have been taken by everyone that has come through. Sara whilst out watching Lion has been taking some beautiful pictures as have Anup & Manoj Shah whom have returned to take upresidence for the season with us at Serian.
