I have just received a link from a friend of mine Lucy King who works with Ian Douglas Hamilton and Save the Elephants. They have researched and developed a novel idea for keeping the elephants away from everyones crops. the idea is simple, reduce the chance of conflict between farmers and elephant and the farmers will not need to shoot at or chase the elephants. The ele's will be calmer and the likliehood of anyone being attacked will decrease substantially! The same idea is one we are following to lessen the issue with Lions attacking Cattle by having a secure boma, reducing the chances of predation and hence no need to kill lion!
