Mara Predator Project

We have been instrumental in supporting the "Mara Predator Project", associated with "Living with Lions" an initiative of Dr Laurence Frank.

Until recently scientists believed there were 100-200,000 lions living in Africa, but a recent survey has found that the number has dropped dramatically to approximately 23,000, and most of these are living in protected national parks. But outside these parks lions are being killed at an alarming rate, and unless urgent action is taken, they may be completely wiped out from these unprotected areas.

The Mara Predator Projects key goals are to log the predator population of the Northern Masai Mara and to raise awareness of the commercial benefits of having a healthy local Lion population.

Camera Traps

We have new toys in camp! Alex has brought three camera traps, we have been putting them out around camp, however the place where we found the most going on at night is down at the spring. The cameras go out every night so we will keep you posted if we see anything interesting, but for now I'll leave you with some the Elephant pics.

Asante sana
